5. Handover & support — Once complete, you’ll receive system documentation and ongoing support if needed.
Roofs we specialise in
We design and install solar on a wide range of roof types across London and the surrounding areas, from straightforward pitched roofs to more complex, multi-level layouts.
Plain tile roofs
The classic suburban roof – neat, low-profile mounting with weather-tight fixings and colour-matched rails.
Slate roofs
Careful detailing for traditional and character properties, using Genius SpeedFlash to ensure complete weatherproofing.
Flat roofs
We specialise in the installation of ballasted and anchored mountings. Ensuring the integrity of the roof surface and optimising generation.
Complex & mixed roofs
Our installers are experienced installing on outrigger dormers, designing L-shaped arrays and navigating around multiple velux windows.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
No – we’re an independent, family run solar and battery installation company. We’ve been fully assessed and approved as an Octopus Energy Trusted Partner, which means Octopus are happy to refer their customers to us, but we’re a separate company.
Your energy supply, bills and tariffs remain with Octopus (or whoever you chosen supply is). We handle the survey, design, installation and aftercare for your solar and battery system. -
We work on most common domestic roof types, including:
Plain and concrete tile roofs
Slate roofs
Flat roofs with ballasted or anchored frames
More complex, multi-level or dormer roofs
If your roof is unusual, very steep or in a conservation area, we’ll flag any extra checks needed at the survey stage and explain your options clearly before you commit.
-
No – you don’t have to be with Octopus to use us as your installer.
We install systems for:Existing Octopus customers
Homeowners planning to switch to Octopus
Homeowners who want to stay with their current supplier
Some smart export or time-of-use tariffs are only available if you move your supply to Octopus, and they’re usually a very good option, but we’ll talk you through what’s available and you can decide what works best for you.
-
In many cases, yes. We regularly retrofit battery storage to existing solar PV systems, even where existing FiT schemes are operating.
We’ll check:The make and model of your existing inverter
How the system was originally wired and commissioned
Whether it’s better to add a separate battery inverter or upgrade part of the system
We’ll then give you a clear proposal showing costs, expected savings and how it will work with any smart tariff you’re on or planning to move to.
-
System, hardware or performance issues – we have a “call us first” policy. We installed the system and will diagnose faults, sort out warranty claims and investigate any monitoring issues.
Tariffs, bills or direct debits – contact your energy supplier (Octopus or whoever supplies your electricity). They control your unit rates, standing charges and export payments.
If you’re not sure who to speak to, get in touch with us and we’ll point you in the right direction.
-
Yes — we handle the entire DNO process for you.
This includes:Confirming whether your system requires G98 notification, G99 approval, or G100 export limitation
Preparing and submitting all paperwork to your local DNO
Managing any export-limiting requirements if G100 applies
Supplying the full commissioning pack once the system is installed
Ensuring the system is fully compliant before it’s energised
You don’t need to contact the DNO yourself — we take care of the whole lot and keep you updated if anything extra is needed.
