• What is a Consumer Unit? A consumer unit, sometimes called a fusebox or a fuseboard is the nerve centre of the electrical installation in your home or business. Every plug socket and lighting circuit is terminated and protected at the Consumer Unit. It is here that the appropriate cable and electric shock prevention devices are housed making it arguably the most important element in your electrical installation. The correct equipment and installation methods are essential for ensuring a safe, uninterrupted electrical supply to your home or business
