Under now Private Rental Sector legislation private landlords are legally obliged to have the electrical installations in their properties inspected at a maximum interval of 5 years. We are registered with the NICEIC Private Rented Sector scheme meaning that we meet their strict entry requirements.

Visual Inspection Reports have replaced the requirement to have an EICR at every change of tenancy. Instead of performing a full in-depth EICR with each change of tenant the property now undergoes a visual inspection only to ensure that there are no obvious electrical hazards awaiting your new tenants.

A VIR is cheaper and quicker but does not negate the necessity of having a valid EICR and the property will still be required to have an “in date” EICR when a VIR is perforfomed.

On completion of the installation and testing our clients receive an NICEIC Electrical Installation Certificate.
